Public comments about tallow and pregnancy skin

The skin can feel tight sometimes and it’s nice to oil it.

How it feels and smells

Firm in the jar, softer with warmth. Rub a small amount between your palms before applying a thin layer. This is a rich balm, so a heavy application can feel greasy. No fragrance or essential oils are added; the ingredients can have a natural scent. Unscented is not a promise of no smell.

How to use

Patch test first. Warm a pea-sized amount between clean palms, then smooth over intact skin on your belly, hips, thighs, or other dry areas before bed or after a shower. Start with less than you would use of lotion. Consult your provider during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Keep away from nipples, areolas, and any area a baby could lick: raw honey must not reach babies under 12 months.

Ingredients

Grass-fed, grass-finished beef tallow (kidney suet, rendered at low heat); raw honey; beeswax; cold-pressed olive oil. No added water, fragrance, essential oils, preservatives, or fillers.

Shipping and returns

Arrives in 7 to 12 days. Free US shipping on bundles. Use for 30 nights from delivery; if it did not help, email support@tummyhush.com for a full refund and keep the jar.

Give dry skin a moisturizing step

Tallow softens and helps seal moisture in. That can help with the tightness and itching associated with dry skin as your belly grows. Pregnancy itching can have other causes; ask your provider about it.

  1. Week 1

Patch test and begin with a thin layer. Notice whether application feels comfortable.

  2. Weeks 2–4

Assess dryness and comfort. Do not wait out persistent or worsening itch.

  3. Month 2

Continue only if it suits you; adjust the amount as your coverage needs change.

Contact your maternity provider urgently for severe itching, itching that is worse at night, or itching on your palms or soles. A moisturizer does not address every cause of pregnancy itching.

Why consider a balm?

Why your lotions stopped working for your routine

Sometimes the moisturizer is useful, but the routine no longer fits. You want a richer layer, fewer scents to consider, or one jar for several dry areas. That does not mean lotions have damaged your skin or that water is a bad ingredient.

Tallow contains some of the same fatty acids found in human sebum. As an occlusive emollient, it softens skin and helps reduce moisture loss. Honey attracts water, beeswax adds a protective film, and olive oil softens. The purpose is moisture, not deeper stretch-mark repair.

  • Another stretch-mark promise → Tallow for everyday moisture
  • A texture you wish felt richer → Tallow in a firm balm that softens with warmth
  • Added perfume you prefer to skip → Tallow blended without fragrance or essential oils
  • Separate moisturizers for every dry area → Tallow balm for several suitable areas

These compare routine preferences, not clinical superiority. A moisturizer you already like may be enough.

Four ingredients. A job for each.

Grass-fed, grass-finished beef tallow

Kidney suet rendered at low heat. Softens skin and helps seal in moisture.

Raw honey

A humectant that attracts water. This is why breastfeeding use needs care: keep it away from nipples and infant mouth contact.

Beeswax

Forms a protective film that helps hold moisture in.

Cold-pressed olive oil

Softens skin and contributes to the balm’s spreadable feel when warmed.

No added water, fragrance, essential oils, preservatives, or fillers. Animal-derived; not vegan or vegetarian.

What goes into the jar

Low heat. Four ingredients. No perfume.

The tallow starts with kidney suet from grass-fed, grass-finished cattle and is rendered at low heat. It is blended with raw honey, beeswax, and cold-pressed olive oil.

The finished balm is firm at cooler temperatures and softens with the warmth of your palms. Each 2 oz (57 g) portion comes in a glass jar with a metal lid. Those are details you can use to decide whether this kind of moisturizer belongs in your routine.

Give it 30 nights. Keep the decision yours.

Use TummyHush for 30 nights from delivery. If it did not help, email support@tummyhush.com for a full refund. Keep the jar.

  1. Night 1

After patch testing, try a small amount and assess the feel.

Choose Your Jars
Does it smell like beef?

No fragrance or essential oils are added. Tallow and the other ingredients can have a natural scent; we cannot promise an odorless jar or that nobody will notice a beef-like note. If scent sensitivity is your deciding factor, consider that before ordering.

Will it feel greasy?

It can if you use too much. This is a rich balm, not a light lotion. Start with a pea-sized amount warmed between your palms, spread a thin layer, and use less if it feels heavy. We do not promise instant absorption or no transfer to clothing.

Will it clog pores?

If you are prone to breakouts, start with a small patch test and watch how your skin responds. Stop if you develop irritation or new breakouts.

Why is it hard in the jar?

Tallow and beeswax give the balm its firm texture. Tallow softens around warm-skin temperatures, roughly 85°F. Warm a small amount between your palms before spreading. Firmness alone does not prove the quality or authenticity of any balm.

Is it safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Ask your care provider to review the full ingredient list before use. Patch test on intact skin. The raw honey must not reach a baby under 12 months: do not apply to nipples, areolas, or anywhere a baby may lick. Wash hand residue away before touching nipples or items that enter a baby’s mouth. Do not use on wounds or healing incisions. Seek urgent maternity advice for severe itching, itching worse at night, or itching on palms or soles.

Is it vegetarian or vegan?

No. It contains beef tallow, honey, and beeswax. Choose a different moisturizer if you avoid animal-derived skincare.

How long does one jar last?

A 2 oz (57 g) jar lasts weeks of nightly belly use. The exact duration depends on how much you apply and whether you also use it on hips, thighs, hands, or other areas. A pea-sized amount covers a large area when warmed and spread thinly.

When will I notice a difference?

The firm-to-soft texture change happens as you warm it. How soon your dry skin feels more comfortable will vary. Use the week-by-week check-ins to assess comfort and your routine. Use for 30 nights from delivery; if it did not help, email support@tummyhush.com for a full refund and keep the jar. Stop sooner if it irritates your skin.

Will it prevent or fade stretch marks?

No prevention, fading, or removal claim is made for this balm. It moisturizes the skin at the surface. Getting stretch marks does not mean you used too little, started too late, or missed too many nights.

When will my order arrive?
